It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee County Commissioner John
Andrew Harris. John was a dedicated and beloved member of the East Alabama Black
Chamber of Commerce, and his contributions to our organization and the community
as a whole will never be forgotten.

John was a true leader, always putting the needs of his constituents first and working
tirelessly to improve the lives of those in his community. He was a strong advocate for
the Black community and worked to promote diversity and inclusion in all of his
endeavors. His passion for justice and equality inspired all of us, and his dedication to
making a positive impact in the world was truly inspiring.

John’s kindness and compassion for others was unmatched, and his smile and laugh
could brighten even the darkest of days. He was always willing to lend a helping hand,
and his warm and welcoming personality made him a friend to all who knew him.

John’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and the positive
impact he had on our organization and community. He will be deeply missed, but his
memory will always be with us.

We offer our deepest condolences to John’s family and friends during this difficult time.
He will forever be remembered as a shining example of what it means to be a true
leader and a good human being. Rest in peace, John Andrew Harris.
